Catholic Exchange features an article today about Our Lady of Perpetual Help, for whom Oklahoma City's cathedral is named. Check it out for information on the symbolism and history of this icon. The picture on the right is a mosaic (click here for a more detailed view)on one of the cathedral's outside walls, the one on the left is, of course, the cathedral.
*UPDATE* I've been trying to tweak this post for a few minutes now because I want visitors to get a good look at the mosaic. I think I've finally got it!
*Update 2* Apparently I need to go back to Kindergarten and re-learn my right and left - the picture on the LEFT is the mosaic and on the RIGHT is the cathedral.
*Snerk* re: right and left. That happens to me all the time.
I've been to the Cathedral twice now- once for the Rite of the Elect and once for an ordination. (If you've never witnessed one, I highly recommend it.) It is such a lovely, peaceful place. I keep wandering out of receptions just to have a look around.
BTW, thanks for the prayers. I woke up feeling much better.
